Ice Climbing @ IwaneSanso Feb 22-23 Man-Made Ice Fall perfect for beginners & intermediate!
Start your Ice climbing life at the beautiful area of Mt Koubushinke nearby Ogawayama, staying at the beautiful Iwane Sanso lodge. Us the ‘Ice Tree’ training ice wall immediately nearby with very little hike.

Learn from one of the most accomplished ice climbing and alpinists in Japan the wonderful Genki Narumi – accomplished and specialising in putting up new routes in Pakistan’s majestic 6000m+ mountains. This year having put up a First ascent of the east face of Hasho Peak (6,080m), Pakistan!!

Day 01: 10:00 Meet at lodge and prepare for climbing + gear rental. Teaching basic ice climbing gear use, approach & snow/ice hiking skills, how to ice climb on top rope – man-made ice – if you are an intermediate climber, you have the option for first lead climb and screw placement after review. Finish around 15:00 for a hot onsen and warm meal at the lodge!

Day 02: 09:00 back to the climbing wall, to progress your skills and try to climb at least 3-5 total climbs depending on your fitness. Intermediate climbers will then have a chance to practice lead climbing whilst under guide and rope.

*Training & schedule is weather dependent for safety. During extreme storms training may be delayed or postponed to another date.

Price: ¥40,000 p/day per person (not including accommodation or Ice Candy Wall usage)
Ice wall usage: ¥4,000 (Paid at the facility)
Participants: Max 6 climbers per instructor

Requirements: Good level of fitness, experience hiking, comfortable in sub zero temperature with suitable outdoor wear.
Gear: Boots, helmet, headlamp, crampons, ice tools – Also available for rent ( ¥4,000 per set – available at facility)
Experience: Beginners can join with no experience / Intermediate can top-rope and interest to possibly start lead climb or at least learn the basics of screw placement
